Tennessee Conservative News [By Olivia Lupia] –
The comprehensive Tennessee Legislative Report Card (TLRC) produced by conservative organization Tennessee Stands is now live for 2026 and includes some new interactive and insightful features users will enjoy as they familiarize themselves with the performances of state lawmakers during this year’s legislative session.
Providing insight since 2023, the TLRC gives each legislator a vote score based on a metric which awards or subtracts points based on how they vote for the bills followed that year. A more detailed description of how the scores are created and tracked can be found on the TLRC website, but each lawmaker is ultimately awarded a vote score for that year’s legislative session, an overall lifetime score, and a leadership letter grade based on how outspoken they were in advocating for conservative principles or legislation.
“When looking at legislators, it’s important to consider all three scores together, in order to get a holistic view of how your representative is leading, or not leading for that matter,” Tennessee Stands said in their announcement. “When looking at our Report Card, you must keep in mind that it is an election year, therefore legislators may have aligned more to the Republican platform than they have in years past. You can see that if you look through the years and how they have voted.”

Additionally, constituents can leave reviews for lawmakers so those using the report card can get a sense of how their elected officials are representing, or failing to represent, their needs or priorities at the capitol.
Another unique component of the TLRC is its financial overview for the General Assembly as a whole and individual legislators. Each Representative or Senator’s report shows what percentage of their campaign contributions are received from Political Action Committees (PACs) or special interest groups. It also breaks down how much comes from individual donors, businesses, and even other candidates.
And some extra features users may find helpful is a tool to compare lawmakers, an interactive district map, and individual bill pages that provide a summary of the legislation, a statement describing its applications and impact from a conservative perspective, and the bill’s status including vote records from committees to the House or Senate floor.
Voters may find the TLRC especially helpful for candidate research as the August 6 election quickly approaches and they determine if the incumbents in their district have earned another term or if their challengers may be better suited to conservatives looking to ensure Tennessee lawmakers are safeguarding and advancing their values.
“Transparency is key to Tennessee Stands, and education is vital to the future of our Republic. We hope this tool will help you lift the curtain and get to know your legislators. If you see something you aren’t happy with, we encourage you to ask them directly. Government is in your hands, and meaningful change begins when citizens are informed, engaged, and willing to hold their elected officials accountable,” said Executive Director Anne Lowery.
