The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

A recent forum for candidates running for Tennessee’s fifth congressional district was hosted by the Wilson County Republican Party and Wilson County Conservative Republicans and moderated by The Tennessee Star Report’s Michael Patrick Leahy.

This is the third in a series of four articles covering the questions and responses of the Republican congressional candidates running for the newly redrawn district. Read the first article and second articles here and here.

Third Question: Our border and immigration laws are not being observed by the Biden Administration and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is not enforcing immigration laws. If elected to congress, would you initiate impeachment proceedings against Secretary Mayorkas? If so, why? If not, why not?

Geni Batchelor: Yes, I would if someone hadn’t already done it – which it should be done before I get there – however I absolutely would and he’s not the only one because the president is not doing his job either. Part of his job is to enforce our laws and he’s not enforcing our immigration laws at the border. And congress is not enforcing our laws and congress has the power based on article 1 section 8 to bring forth the militia – the national guard – to protect our border. There are a few of them down there but we need more and the border patrol needs more. And it’s, again, makes no sense to me that somebody up there is not stepping forward and protecting us because we are under invasion – there’s no question – they can send them to enforce the law, they can send them to suppress insurrection, and they can send them to repel invasion of fentanyl that’s killing our teenagers, of gang members that want nothing but destruction.

Stewart Parks: The answer is 100% yes. So, I’m the only candidate in this race that does not recognize the administration of Joe Biden. He’s not the legal president. And so you all saw – God bless you – you all saw me… I already have articles of impeachment typed up ready for Joe Biden so y’all send me to office, he’s going, Kamala Harris, Kentaji Brown Jackson is going because she’s an illegitimate supreme court nominee. So to answer your question – yes – he’s illegitimate anyway, Majorkas, he’s intentionally dragging his feet to allow an open border because they’ve got, either they’re blackmailed [by] a cartel member or whatever it is, they’re part of a secret brotherhood that we don’t know about, they’re intentionally looking the other way to let these cartel members, these illegals – and I said this at the Davidson County debate – Nicaragua reached an agreement with Russia to allow Russian troops to train in their country so I could see Russian partners and so forth going up through the border and we have no idea where they’re going…

Timothy Lee: Yes, I would. Absolutely, without a doubt, and the reason is a little bit different from what you always hear about illegal immigrants. It is more about the fentanyl problem. Me being a paramedic on the streets, I see people die every single day. I see a shortage of narcan being available to those people. Anybody who has ever lost a life, or had a family member lose their life to overdose understands what I’m talking about. It is a hard drug. Last year alone there was enough fentanyl seized at the border to kill every American in here seven times over again. That is the reason we need to impeach him – for murder of our citizens – and that’s the number one reason why.

Jeff Beierlein: Absolutely, and I’d go one step further – first of all, I think he’s a clown, it’s ridiculous – I would ask for our money back because he’s not living up to his responsibilities and it’s our tax dollars funding this. I’ve lived at the border, I’ve served immigrants as part of my Christian mission, I lived in Central America being a part of fighting the drug mission – this was before fentanyl was the flavor of the day – I even married an immigrant. We need immigrants but we have to have control over that. It’s beyond just building the wall. A couple facts real quick – fentanyl is going to kill 107 thousand Americans this year. By contrast, guns alone will kill almost 50. Fifty-four percent of that 50 is due to suicides. Guns are one fifth the problem of drugs and we’re turning a blind eye to it and they’re derelict in their responsibilities at the federal government. So 100%… he needs to go.

Andy Ogles: Absolutely, you know in my mid-life crisis I went into law enforcement… I worked in human trafficking and I can tell you that we have a problem at our border, and it’s gotta be stopped. This current administration is a criminal enterprise. Biden, Pelosi, Mayorkas, they should all be impeached, they all should be tried for treason, and they all need to go to jail.

Beth Harwell: Yes, I would join with my colleagues to do just that. You know, we are all immigrants to some extent. My family came from England, and Ireland, and Germany, but you know the difference? They came to one central place; they came to Ellis Island. They had a health screening test – which we’re not doing now – and they were immediately put to work instead of being put on a government program. That’s the difference. So as Americans we have the right to say how many people come to our country every year, what their skill level is, and where they are placed. We have got to get this under control. I’m one of the few candidates that has been to the border and I will tell you [that] Trump’s wall needs to be built.

Tres Wittum: If one of my senior members in the caucus decides to do something like that I’ll be supportive but I don’t plan to be a part of the Washington charade. What I plan to do is actually start looking on how to get solutions because that’s what people want, not just more Fox News television of impeachment. But how you do that – you gotta start looking at the money. You grab the table of power and you shake it real hard. You start figuring out what strings go where and how to pull them real hard and make it very, very uncomfortable to get people to do what we want them to do. That’s how you get the problem solved. The charade of impeachment, you go through that for a month and then what? He gets out of it, I mean, it’s a joke these days. So I plan to actually make a difference. And I am the only candidate on this stage that had to deal with the refugees that came in the middle of the night in Chattanooga, and the federal government did nothing. The federal delegation did nothing. They get on Fox News, it’s cute, they get their picture at the border, but they do nothing. I plan to do something. I’ve actually helped aid and craft policy that helped Tennessee deal with it and we’re going to do it at the federal government. So like I said, no charades here – we’re straight business.

Natisha Brooks: No, he’s working for his boss, Biden, and if he’s impeached and it’s successful then the next step is to impeach Biden. We can’t have Biden impeached because we then get Kamala! God help us! The question is would you rather have Biden or Harris? We can at least wake him at times and have a two minute conversation. Kamala would laugh us right out of her President’s Office.
