Home School Parents, if you aren’t aware, TN Rep William Slater (615) 741-2534 is planning to force certain homeschool students back into public schools with HB1729 based on invasive testing he hopes to mandate – despite the fact 60% of government school students are failing to meet standards, he’s mainly concerned with what YOU do in YOUR home.

This would put homeschools under much stricter control and scrutiny for testing than government school students. Your kids might have to go back to government schools.

This is not good for Homeschool Families.

If I lived in his district, I’d run a primary opponent for this guy. He needs to go…

  1. Wow….wonder how this will work with the already burdensome and over budgeted Educational Freedom Scholarship? So let me get this straight…if you are in a ‘failing public school’ our state does NOT have the money to put you in this ‘program’ because PRIVATE SCHOOL CHILDREN already took all the spots and money allotted, but if you are HOMESCHOOLED and don’t submit to the new testing or fail the FAILING PUBLIC SCHOOL TEST, you have to GO BACK to that FAILING PUBLIC SCHOOL! REALLY? Representative William Slater OBVIOUSLY has an agenda to DUMB DOWN all the home school children! This would be COMICAL if it were not true. Surely, some GOP leader will step up and push back on this REGULATORY NIGHTMARE!

  2. So, the people who’ve totally failed to educate public school kids then promote them any way are going to oversee/harass home schoolers?
