One of the things I regularly hear as a coach is “it’s genetic and since my Grandma (mom, Dad, Grandpa’s dad on my mom’s side, aunt….insert anything here that relates to family).
I like to provide the bad news first, so you have something to look forward to. The bad news is that it’s true, genes play a role in our health and how healthy or unhealthy we are.
The good news? You get to control how those genes are expressed through the choices you make every day.
So let’s break it down a little bit.
If you are a person who has a history of high cholesterol in your family and you think that predisposes you to heart disease, you are in for the excellent news. You can control your destiny by choosing to eat whole food, change how you see and handle stress, and move your body safely, all of which reduce your overall inflammation.
I did an interview with the author of Cholesterol Clarity which you may find helpful and you can find here:
Fun tip: As you age, you need more cholesterol. It’s like water for a fire of inflammation as you get older.
You can go through this scenario with ANY diagnosis or familial disease. Your choices largely determine your health, promoting health and medical freedom, which is the goal we should ALL be moving toward achieving.
If you are dealing with ongoing health problems and can’t seem to move the needle on progress, feel free to reach out! I am now taking clients for the month of November. You can email me here at carmenhunter@protonmail.com
