The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –
Last week, The Tennessee Conservative asked Tennesseans “How would you grade TN House Speaker Cameron Sexton on his leadership to stop Illegal Immigration in Tennessee at the state level?” in the form of a poll posted on X.
Out of the 291 participants who voted, 72.9% rated Sexton’s efforts as “Poor” and 16.8% said his leadership was “Mediocre.”
On Facebook, one commenter stated, “Just come to Gallatin and see all the welcome centers for the “refugees”” while another said, “Come to Sevier County where the mountains are literally crawling with [illegal immigrants].”
Another commenter wrote, “How many “refugees/immigrants” have been flown in & “resettled” for decades. How many have to TN? How many & where are they? Programs in place have “quotas” & operate with the help of NGO’s. ORR (office of refugee resettlement) funds it… compliments of tax $$$. They work with the UN. Most are unvetted because poor or war torn places have no databases. In the past, refugees had to pay back their flight costs to the NGO’s. The facilitators: Secure housing. Arrange for welfare (SNAP, housing, medical & vouchers). Prearrange with factories for jobs (most pay so low, leaving workers to still qualify for welfare). Mayors from Blue cities petition the right sources to bring in these “workers.” Local residents, taxpayers have no say in the matter…”
Along with several comments simply giving Sexton an F, others said:
“An F! Is he really any different that the RINO Lee? We need a true conservative Governor and Speaker for TN.”
“F – Just another spineless RINO.”
“F – No better than Lee.”
Earlier this year, we reported that Tyson Foods intended to hire thousands of “refugees” to work in their plants including their three-year-old plant in Humboldt. The company was offering incentives to those willing to relocate to Humboldt which included stipends for temporary housing and relocation expenses, time off to get used to the area, on-site child care, transportation, and even Paid Time Off for immigration court hearings.
Another commenter on X stated, “All you have to do is go into a suburban store around Nashville to see individuals who can barely speak English using a debit card with shopping carts full of clothing and household goods. Nolensville Pike just south and north of Old Hickory on a Saturday night is Chaos.”
You can reference the illegal immigration timeline for all the failed legislation that might have passed had it received any support from Speaker Sexton.

Why are we putting up with this mess? These people who are being laid off and illegals hired back instead is against the law isn’t it.
We are just sitting back and letting our State be overran by illegals. It’s only going to get worse when Lee is leaving office. Sexton is a pansy to him, and we have got to vote him out along with a list of other Rino’s.
Let’s keep reminding ourselves of how conservatives can do much, much better than Sexton, or the inevitable big buck/little record plutocrat(s), when they run for governor against one of our stalwart conservative congressmen in 2026 (e.g. Mark Green – Heritage 95%, Tim Burchett-93%, John Rose-98%).
He is a F grade all around. His leadership is pathetic on the same level as rino lee. People need to wake up before it’s too late. We are on the threshold of no return. Tennessee is turning blue by the day with all the rinos the Tennessee house and senate. Just because a person has a R behind their name doesn’t mean a darn thing. There are a few good men and women in our Tennessee government but not enough. Let’s secure the vote of Legal Tennesseans. Stop playing games. Look at all the crime that is being committed.
In God we trust not government or man.
Have a blessed day.
