Far-Left Cancel Culture Attempts To Deny Conservative Students Opportunity To Learn More About American Values

Turning Point USA’s Made in America Tour was scheduled to make a stop at Nolensville High School prior to backlash from the far-left calling for cancellation.

A Tennessee resident retweeted a post from Moms for Liberty – Williamson County chapter promoting the event and tagged Williamson County Schools and the Tennessee Holler among others.

The resident called the event an “inappropriate use of school facilities.”

The Tennessee Holler tweeted, “apparently highly partisan rallies are welcome at our public high schools now?”

Nashville Resist Taxation W/out Representation tweeted, “TN taxpayers don’t need to provide a venue or anything else to TPUSA.”

In response, Williamson County Schools tweeted, “There is false information about a Turning Point USA event that has been advertised to be held at Nolensville High School on September 21.  The event was never approved to be held at NHS and @TPUSA has been asked to remove all references to Nolensville High.”

The event was not only advertised by local Tennessee groups but on the TPUSA website and on their social media platforms making the denial by WCS that the event was never approved seem suspicious.

Further, it appears that the Nolensville High School chapter of TPUSA had done their due diligence to ensure the event was above board by stating that permission slips were required for event attendance on their flyer. 

A Tennessee Conservative subscriber tells us, “The left has gone insane and the poor kids who run the TPUSA chapter at NHS are in the crossfire.  My family and friends are getting harassed at school for being a part of this organization.  It’s terrible.”

WCS school district spokesperson Carol Birdsong, said that the decision to not approve the event was made at the administrative level stating that school leadership was following school board policy that states only “non-partisan” political events are allowed.

Current advertisements for the event, however, do not state that the event will have been held at Nolensville High School.  We have received confirmation that the event is still on; it will just not be held at NHS. TPUSA’s coordinator of the event tells us it will now be held at Hilton Franklin Cool Springs, 601 Corporate Center Dr. Franklin, TN. Tickets available HERE.

Benny Johnson, an American political columnist and chief creative officer for the conservative organization Turning Point USA, is scheduled to speak about American values.

According to the Turning Point USA website, the tour is designed specifically to engage with conservative students, with the aim of activating them “to defend their values in the face of leftwing pressure found in the classroom, on the field, and everywhere that students face the Culture War.”

Further the website states, “The Made in America Tour will combat head-on the most destructive leftwing narratives threatening American society today, including: Critical Race Theory, The 1619 Project, gender theory, socialism, communism, climate alarmism, and more.”
