Illegal Immigration In Tennessee Sparks Response From Lawmakers

The Tennessee Conservative [By Rebecca Scott] –

Tennessee lawmakers and citizens are becoming increasingly aware of the issue of illegal immigration within the state.

With the release of a notice sent to the City of Franklin from the Department of Homeland Security informing the city that nearly 600 illegal immigrants from the Southwest Border had chosen Franklin, Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Davidson County as their destination of choice after being processed at the border, some members of Tennessee’s Congressional delegation are making their concerns known to DHS and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Representative Scott DesJarlais (R-TN-District 4) submitted a letter to DHS and is quoted in a press release from his office as saying, “The letter that DHS sent to the City of Franklin raises more questions than it answers. Our federal, state and local leaders need to know, if there are unaccompanied minors that could be in danger, what sort of potential taxpayer resources are these migrants going to require, and how many more are on the way since this letter was sent. It’s also critical to ensure that those with reporting requirements are showing up to their court dates and regularly reporting their whereabouts to DHS. Most importantly, we need to get to the bottom of why DHS themselves said that some of the migrants released have already been processed for expedited removal.”

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) sent a joint letter to the attention of Mayorkas. They called out the Biden administration for the disastrous crisis at the southern border.

“The Biden administration is single-handedly responsible for the humanitarian and national security crisis at our southern border, but you are forcing the American people to bear the consequences. This administration’s policy of releasing migrants into communities across the country is a dangerous and irresponsible attempt to hide the true extent of the Biden border crisis, and it is making every town in America less safe.”

Their letter went on to say, “At minimum, Tennesseans deserve to know the full details about when these immigrants are moving to Tennessee, how many will be arriving, and the extent of their vetting. We are requesting more information about this disturbing news.”

The letter asked Mayorkas to respond by February 9th with the answers to questions regarding vetting, tracking and criminal backgrounds of the immigrants, as well as whether or not more illegal immigrants have cited Middle Tennessee as their intended destination.

A source for The Tennessee Conservative has raised concerns that, during a Williamson County Sheriff’s Candidate Forum, it was mentioned that 500 illegal immigrants were transported to hotels by Cool Springs Mall.

This location is close to the Islamic Center of Williamson County which may raise red flags and questions regarding the choice of a drop-off point for the immigrants. According to our source, a large influx of illegal immigrants should be cause for residents to, at minimum, be informed of the arrival of the immigrants in order to make informed choices regarding their own safety.

With more questions than answers at this point in time, Tennessee’s lawmakers must continue to insist on transparency from DHS, including detailed information regarding illegal immigrants being sent to the state, while fighting for the safety and security of all Tennesseans.

TN needs to ship them to Sanctuary Cities, like Abbott does. I’ll donate.

These are not “immigrants” they are migrants and have no lawful entrance pathway provided by Congress just the ones Mayorkas and Biden have fabricated by ignoring federal immigration law. Scott DeJarlais’ letter sounds like his office doesn’t really have a handle on what’s been going on in Tennessee in terms of illegal immigration. And none of these federal lawmakers have ever commented about the support illegal aliens with work permits re finding from the small business lobby and chamber here and the GOP state legislators that worship at their altars.

Our lawmakers are not defending our interests. Tennesseeans do not want illegal immigrants here. So, there are a number of laws passed through legislation that can put an end to it. How about…bussing them elsewhere? Passing a law opening up any transportation company to fines or civil lawsuits if they are involved in transporting individuals who have broken our laws or are here illegally? Doing the same to hotels/motels? Should you not require IDs, you break the law, you either get a huge fine or are closed down. Just a few examples. Why do politicians write Mayorkas anything? He is doing this on purpose and doesn’t give a damn about you. Is that not clear? Stop the theater and do something that will cause pain to anyone and everyone involved.

This is disturbing at the least. The proximity to the mosque is suspect. Any numbers on how many of these illegals are connected to Islam? The news today stated that Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah connected people have come over our border. This article is well written and informative.

No matter their age, they are in our country illegally. The only help illegals should expect from us is a bus ticket back to mexico. These illegals have had a lot of help getting here from catholic charities, the red cross, chamber of commerce etc but when the federal government started aiding and abetting this invasion, it’s time for states to take action. Start deportation now for not only the newly arrived illegals but all daca illegals and “refugees”. All of them are a threat to our state and our nation. As for the feds, time they are arrested, charged and imprisoned for treason.

A politicians strongly crafted letter to DHS is not going to get anything done. As other comments have stated our state needs to enact measures to counteract the migrants. Make our state unfriendly for migrants. have 100% everify for all employers. Have state employees that go out and check employers jobsites. Fine and jail employers that hire illegals. Ig migrants can’t work here that will not stay here.

Talk, talk, talk. That’s all our elected officials seem to be capable of. Sealing autopsy records of minors only applies to a very few, yet a lot of time will be wasted on it. There’s dozens of things on the docket that benefit only a few citizens. The invasion of illegals affects all of us. Get off your duffs, people. Pull up your big girl panty’s and doing something meaningful.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.

“MOST” people are laying back on their butts hoping “SOMEONE” else will take care of the problem,

But guess who is going to be the first victim when the “TERRORIST” start,

And they will start, make no mistake about it.

This “Immigration Problem” is nothing more than a “COVER” to create major civil problems so government has an excuse to “Declare Dictator powers”.

Well, we need a GOVERNOR and an AG that will ‘act’ as quickly on this matter of CRITICAL IMPORTANCE as they did on the moderately important NCAA ‘potential’ sanctions against the University of Tennessee…..I know everyone noticed their RAPID FIRE response, which was a POLITICAL move to make us all think they are “ON THE JOB”! But, when it comes to protecting it’s citizens against the OBVIOIUS harm that these illegals will bring to our state, they are AWOL! Shame on them! Once more SIMPLY proving our Governor is just another weak kneed moderate.

Send every migrant back where they came from. We do not want our tax dollars used for them. We don’t want them here for any reason! If you cut off the resources they will leave. Our hospitals, schools and way of life will suffer.
