As 2021 ended, like many of you, I found myself frustrated and discouraged at the current state of our nation, and its massive lurch towards communism. We have been bombarded with never ending crises on our own shores these past two years.
The short list would include the “pandemic”, Afghanistan, two million illegal border crossings, inflation, the supply chain, the lack of workforce participation, Chinas’ aggression towards Taiwan, and its march to South America, record number of fentanyl overdoses…the list could go on forever. If one is truly plugged into the happenings around the world, it would be understandable, they may be a bit demoralized and hopeless.
In 2021, our lives dramatically changed. The deliberate manipulation by the media and “experts” across the globe to promote fear and the suppression of dissenting opinions from the approved narrative, can be clearly seen for what it is. This is what you would call the fog of war.
This is a military tactic developed to overthrow governments and win wars. The fog of war is implemented by separating officers and soldiers (quarantining the population) so that communication becomes muddled and individual perspectives are not easily remedied.
We can see this with the flip-flopping of Saint Fauci, the CDC and the legacy media regarding COVID-19. Once a person becomes uncertain of themselves and the world around them, they will not have the ability to reason and will remain in a perpetual “fog”. This is exactly what we are facing today.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the “American Dream Conference” in Franklin, Tennessee, hosted by Mom’s for Liberty, and was reminded by many of the brilliant speakers, including Dr. Ben Carson, Pastor Broden and Dr. James Lindsey, that there is a remedy for all of this. We must get back to basics.
Conservatism is what founded this nation and made it the greatest country in the world. So, what is conservatism? It can be summed up by the following 10 principles.
- Liberty
- Equality
- Natural Rights
- Consent of the Governed. Read that again!
- Religious Freedom
- Private Property Rights
- The Rule of Law
- Constitutionalism
- Self-Governance
- Independence
Living by and embodying these 10 principles, we can rescue our country from the tyranny she is currently drowning in. As Pastor Broden noted during the conference, he hears a lot about the “American Dream” and how it is quickly disappearing. The answer is simple, stop dreaming and start working! We must be well informed to educate others, but we must also activate ourselves and get involved. It won’t be enough to watch Fox News and buy a My Pillow to save this great country. It takes measured action.
The first four sections of the Tennessee State Constitution could not be clearer. “That all power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their peace, safety, and happiness… have at all times, an unalienable and indefeasible right to alter, reform, or abolish the government in such manner as they may think proper. That government being instituted for the common benefit, the doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.”
These past two years, I was deeply saddened that Americans, descendants of giants who took on the world’s most well-funded and largest army at the time to fight for liberty, submitted to the edicts of unelected ideologues for a little safety.

Although it may have taken two years, the momentum is swinging. Slowly you see many people from all walks of life, awakening from the “fog” they have been in all this time. From the media backtracking and the parents recognizing the programming of their children in government run schools, the yearning of the return to those 10 principles is palpable.
2022 must be the year we hold our leaders and elected officials accountable, as these past two years they have miserably failed us. However, 2022 must also be the year we awaken our fellow man and become action-oriented citizens, for liberty is not having the freedom to do what you want to do but having the ability to do what you ought to do. For if we don’t, we may one day be telling our grandchildren what it was once like to be free in the United States of America.
