President Trump Urges Tennesseans To Vote For Andy Ogles In 5th Congressional District

In a “Tele-rally” held by phone yesterday evening, President Donald Trump urged Tennesseans to vote for Andy Ogles in the 5th Congressional District race.
“I’d like everyone to get out and vote for Andy Ogles – a spectacular man, a great leader – to be your next congressman from Tennessee’s fifth congressional district,” said Trump. “He is a father, an entrepreneur, and a Middle Tennessee native with a proven track record of creating jobs, and protecting your communities, and standing up for Tennessee values.”
Ogles, who has served as Mayor of Maury County since 2018 is the Republican nominee for District 5. He is running against Democrat Heidi Campbell who Trump called a “far left extremist” and “puppet for Nancy Pelosi.” Three Independent candidates are also on the ballot.
Trump congratulated Ogles on leading “the state’s fastest growing county” and stated that he was recognized as the most conservative mayor in Tennessee.
Last year, Ogles issued a State of Emergency as Mayor in an attempt to “secure the liberties” of healthcare workers in Maury County.
In a Facebook Live video, Ogles issued the order to counteract a federal mandate that all healthcare providers receiving Medicare and Medicaid funding require all employees to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
“There has been a consistent abuse of power by the executive branch of the United States,” Ogles said at the time. “No power to regulate health and medical practices was delegated to the United States… If there is ever a time to unite, stand together, and fight, it is now. I will leverage every tool at my disposal to protect this county and all the residents who reside here. I am resolute in my conviction and I will not relent.”
Trump said, “Andy bravely stood up against the Biden administration’s unconstitutional Covid mandates and strongly defended the freedoms of Tennessee’s families.”
Ogles’ Democratic challenger, Heidi Campbell, “would be a disgrace to your state,” said Trump. “She doesn’t represent Tennessee values.”
According to Trump, Ogles will stand for parental rights, and also fight for “free, fair, and honest elections.”
