Tennesseans Restored Essential Liberties During Special Session – But Work Remains

By Senator Janice Bowling –

I want to begin this article by thanking the Conservative grassroots community that worked long and hard to get the special session on the calendar. Further, your calls, emails and time spent at the capitol ensured that your representatives understood that you value your individual and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms. Without your steadfast support, we would not be where we are today.

I have been passing legislation to protect against the overreach which has been attacking our God given, constitutionally protected rights since last January. These laws were not being uniformly followed.

A small group of us worked hard to get the Special Session called to protect the people of Tennessee. We want everyone to know what these laws are.

Many of us drove into our driveways after 3:00AM on Saturday morning . We left the closing of the special session in Nashville at 1:30 AM in the morning. It lasted three days. We are grateful to God for helping us in every way.

We have passed legislation to protect against the attempt by business, Biden and others to trample our God Given Liberty underfoot.

No more requirements for school children to wear masks.

If a parent wants their child to be masked (even though pediatricians and epidemiologists say the mask does not help and is damaging to children), that is their choice.

We passed legislation that employers cannot ask their employees if they have had the shot.

The shot does not prevent the spread of Covid. It was initially effective in lessening the severity of one or two symptoms of Covid-19. It now requires a booster. Only people who have had Covid have a robust immunity. Taking or not taking the shot is a personal medical decision.

Any adverse action by an employer provides legal cause of action to the employee.  Also, if a Tennessean has become unemployed, or becomes unemployed due to being fired, they get unemployment compensation.

We passed legislation which codifies that parents have authority over medical choices for their children from birth to age 18. No shots to children without written permission, non-coerced from  parents.

Hospitals have to allow family or pastors to visit with patients in hospitals.

Federal contractors, if they want an exemption from the no-required shot part of the legislation, have to let the Comptroller of Tennessee review their contract to see where that need for the exemption exists in their contract. If it does actually exist, they would have to provide a religious or right of conscience exemption to employees.

Our legislation requires that doctors be allowed to practice medicine.. to treat with the very effective medicines and preventions available in successfully curing Covid. Doctors had been threatened with loss of their licenses for testing patients and curing Covid! That type of licensure bullying is not going to be allowed !

Many other good items are included in the legislation. It will go to the Governor’s desk to finish signing it into law. Please encourage him to sign it immediately upon receiving it.

These laws will be followed!

Thank you Senator Bowling. Sad to say my Senator Gardenhire, does not respect the concerns and requests of his constituents. I sent an email to Governor Lee this morning.

Do not despair. You can help your Senator redeem himself. Asvise him to support Senator Niceley’s SB692. Senator Gardenshire is Vice Chair of the State & Local Committee, which is the first hurdle 692 must clear in January.

YES! Kudos are due to those who worked hard to ‘stymie’ the effects of Central Government overreach that should never have occured.

Now is the time to shift from survivial based counterpunching to PROACTIVE removal/neuterment of the root cause. Our abusive National Oligarchy has been directly enabled by USC 17A.

Enact Frank Niceley’s SB692/HB1527. Restore control of US Senate to State Legislatures as originally and wisely established by our Founding fathers.

Shot and mask should be a personal choice not a condition of employment. Both need to be addressed.

Please make our employers stop forcing us to covid-test weekly (twice for us). These wacky libs arent following science. I have natural immunity but the vaccinated arent having to test weekly.

I asked all of my State representative critters, What about the Essential Liberty Bill, Hulsey HB0013 – Bowling Bill, that passed last Session. NO ANSWER!!!??? It is already LAW. You and Rep. Hulsey did a wonderful job defending Essential Liberty and You all’s Legislation became Law. Seems “Laws are multiplied on the books” and nobody is aware they passed!!!??? I salute both you and Rep. Hulsey for that Essential Liberty Bill. For God & Country
