The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

Responses to a Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) social media post last week seem to show a growing mistrust of the department among Tennesseans.

“Nearly half of Tennesseans aged 18 and older report having loaded firearms in or around their homes. Use these guidelines for safe storage to #preventsuicide or unintentional harm,” reads the post.

Brian Benton from Shelbyville said, “This is definitely the place I go to when I need factual information. What a joke.”

Maryville resident Charlie Walton made the observation that “a firearm locked in a safe does nothing to protect you or your family.”

Satana Diable commented, “I think it’s safe to assume that 90% of households in Tennessee have loaded firearms in and around their homes. Considering this, I think we have awesome gun safety in our fine state.”

Jackie Kincaid pointed out that “most gun owners in Tennessee went to the gun class.”

Mark Swicord from Murfreesboro took issue with the topic of gun safety coming from the Tennessee Department of Health in the first place. “As the state health department you have no business discussing firearms; this is not your lane! Last check Tennessee has conservative Republican leadership that reflects the demographics of the state; you are taking a socialist liberal approach to firearms. You have other pressing issues.”

Perhaps the most damning comment came from Chattanooga resident Mark Chauvin, who said, “Since we’ve seen through all the GASLIGHTING on COVID-19 they are now trying to get you to lock and even get rid of your only defense against a despot regime, national government and 2nd amendment right. Good try. But nobody is listening to you.”

NewTruth

Earlier in the month, a post from the TDH advocating for three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine over two to prevent hospitalization had nearly 500 comments. Reading through those comments, anyone can see that trust in the department seems at an all time low after more than two years of living through a pandemic.

In a post where we asked if our readers trust the Tennessee Department of Health, the comments were overwhelmingly negative.

And our poll asking the same question shows that trust in the TDH is currently very low indeed.

At the time of publication of this article, 93% of respondents had said “no.”

Let’s see, the Comm 0f Ed is working with NIH guidelines, not TN law.. hm, could be a problem since killer fauci has NO credibility, and neither does Department of Health Dr Lisa Piercey
