I can’t believe we are already heading into the holiday season, and the year is about to end!
Being with our loved ones, enjoying our time together, and creating memories should be at the top of the list for the holiday season. However, we are often focused on the “perfect gift,” how to get along with family members we may not “enjoy” so much, and avoiding weight gain during the holidays.
Let’s try to get some perspective this season and remember a few important things. The perfect gift can’t be bought, and while we may not be able to develop a LOVE for the difficult family member, we can extend forgiveness, love, and good energy, from our heart to improve our experience sharing space.
The other thing we can do is to extend Grace to ourselves for not being perfect ourselves. So while you are enjoying the process of cooking, baking, gathering, and eating, do yourself a favor and make choices that “feel good.”
This means just being more present, checking in with yourself during the times where you may feel most vulnerable to make a “bad” decision, and asking yourself how this will feel AFTER you drink the fourth glass of wine or eat the third piece of pie.
But, then, here’s the kicker, once you make that present-minded decision, no matter what it is, let it go without judgment, guilt, or shame and give yourself the Grace.
I will be doing a mini class on how to get ready for Christmas stress, food choices, healthy food options and more. If you haven’t “met” me yet please check out this free training about how to take back your health and medical freedom in a low stress way and watch my events page for the upcoming training and conversation about how we can have a happier healthier holiday season with GRACE.
