Something that no one seems to consider when discussing the minimum wage. That is the cost of living in the area. I live in NW TN. I am certain that the entry level job does not need a starting wage that the same job in NY City. A McDonald’s worker in NYC might need $15.00 per hours whereas in my area, the current minimum wage is sufficient.
