Nashville Shooter’s Partial “Manifesto” Leak Spurs News Media Frenzy & Responses From Political Commentators

Nashville Police Chief John Drake has officially confirmed the authenticity of an information leak involving three pages of the Covenant School shooter’s writings.
The Covenant School shooter killed six individuals back in March of this year, three of which were elementary school students. The shooter was then shot and killed by the police.
According to court filings, these three leaked pages are just a small portion of the shooter’s writings. There are at least 20 journals, a suicide note, and a memoir on record.
The documents were made public on Monday, by conservative commentator Steven Crowder, on his show Louder with Crowder.
Chief Drake put out a press release Monday evening, insisting that his department had no control over the release status of the documents.
“I am greatly disturbed by today’s unauthorized release of three pages of writings from the Covenant shooter. The police department is extremely serious about the investigation to identify the person responsible,” Chief Drake wrote.
The police chief went on to say that the leak showed “a total disregard” for both Covenant families and the court system. He also stated that the department looks forward to “the ultimate resolution of the litigation concerning the journals.”
On Tuesday, WZTV interviewed Crowder on why he made the documents public.
“This is relevant in charting a course forward, right?” said Crowder. “Establishing a motive, or understanding if there was a motive, or certainly understanding the targets.”
According to Crowder, his investigative team received a vague email and after responding to that email, they received photos from a text thread with a detective that was started shortly after the shooting.
Crowder’s team then conducted a rigorous verification process, even traveling to Nashville in efforts to verify the information they had received, before anything was brought to the public.
“I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that it’s the truth. They aim once, they aim right,” Crowder stated.
WZTV also asked Crowder what he would say to the Covenant School families and others who may be upset about the leak.
“It’s a tragedy beyond anything that I could imagine,” he said. “I honestly can’t imagine anything worse than burying a child, burying my child. So that’s not lost on me.”
Regardless of opinion on the release of the documents, some are simply wondering how images like these could have been leaked in the first place.
“They’re going to have to go scrub it and check it out and find out what happened,” said Retired FBI Agent Scott Augenbaum. “How did this sit here and how did it get released?”
Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell also put out a statement announcing an investigation to find out how the documents were leaked.
“I am deeply concerned with the safety, security, and well-being of the Covenant families and all Nashvillians who are grieving,” wrote Mayor O’Connell.
Others are less concerned with how the documents were leaked, focusing instead on who the documents were leaked by.
Tennesseans and even people from out-of-state are curious as to why Louder with Crowder, an independent news source that produces online political commentary content out of Texas, was the one to bring these three pages to the public’s attention instead of one of the countless news media organizations across the state.
Any “online conspiracy theorists” claiming that the news media is attempting to cover up the shooter’s full writings are wrong. At least, according to the news media.
News Channel 2 has stated that they “requested the writings immediately after the shooting” but are still waiting on the documents as “this is in line with the law News 2 follows to obtain copies of public records.”
Nashville-based conservative political commentator, Candace Owens, posted to her social media saying, “Holding my comments regarding the #NashvilleManifesto because I am unsure if it is in fact the manifesto, or just 3 pages from the shooter’s notebook.”
“My earlier understanding,” wrote Owens, “was that the shooter had a detailed manifesto which spelled out the reasons for the attack which was being withheld? Either way I hope this at the very least puts pressure on the authorities to release everything they have because the public has always had a right to know.”

It’s all crap. No matter what he/she wrote, it doesn’t fall under National Security or any of the other gotcha bull. A Freedom of Information request is all that should be required. The involvement of the courts in this matter is ridiculous. As to the victims families, I can sympathize whole heartedly with your feelings. I’m sure I would feel the same if I were in your shoes. The problem is, as usual, the authorities release statements that don’t fit the facts. Transparency is vital to keep our government, somewhat, under control.
Some people don’t like facts to be seen or heard. It doesn’t fit the agenda that a powerful group is pushing.

All the hoopla could have been avoided if they had released all the evil shooter’s writings early on. Simple as that. There is no doubt the powers that be created this mess and they are still trying to keep it from the publics eye.
DEMAND the entire “manifesto” & suicide note be released! There is NO REASON to keep this information in the dark other then nefarious reasons.

Not sure why it matters what Candice Owens says. She is so much less then I ever expected on anything local until it gets her press time.
It was released out of state because Crowder has a massive very conservative following.

Candace Owens is a great conservative and some people want to hear her opinion. I agree that the whole manifesto should be released to the public.
The reason the sick brainwashed Communist murderer’s manifesto was not released was because it didn’t fit the Marxist narrative of the Communist tyrants that run this country . The radical Left is in large part responsible for promoting such sickness through their ability to brainwash sicko perverts .The public has a right to know . I could have told anyone what it was all about because the Marxists didn’t want it released . It simply didn’t fit their narrative .There is absolutely no other reason to keep it swept under the rug . If it had of been a European American that did the murders of any so called ” oppressed group ” it would have been revealed and plastered all over the Fake News . This is just another example of state and local government trying to keep the People in the dark. They deem what we need to know and what to think. We the People are not intelligent enough to form our own opinions and need these enlightened class to tell us what to think. I do have sympathy for the families, but in order to work on the real problem (Mental illness) We the People need the facts. The narrative is Gun Control and this shooter doesn’t fit so we need to keep all the information secret until the People forget or can be distracted by another headline. The withholding of this vital information about testosterone fired up sexual deviants murdering children and white people is a crime against a free people, that deserve that truth and light be shone into every crack of government involvement.
