The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –

Now that Roe vs. Wade has been overturned and Tennessee’s trigger laws are going into effect, Governor Bill Lee says that the focus is now on supporting mothers after birth and finding ways to support the entire family.

“We’re strengthening and developing strategies for our foster care system, or adoption system, maternal healthcare for mothers. We already instituted an expansion of maternal healthcare for TennCare mothers in the state,” said Lee.

Last year, the state invested in public-private partnerships to that end. Tennessee Fosters Hope was launched to ensure that every child in Tennessee has a safe, loving home. $433 thousand went to Psalm 139 Ministries  to place ultrasound machines in crisis pregnancy centers across the state. Agape Child & Family Services received $1 million to support expecting and new mothers.

Abortion activists meanwhile are funneling resources to help send women out of state to obtain abortions.

Nashville activist Tatum Brown, a 21-year-old who has teamed up with Abortion Access Nashville has organized rallies in the past focused on minority and low-income people who identify as female. Now, she connects women seeking to end the lives of their unborn children with clinics in other states.

“Connecting people in our state, to people in other states who may be able to fill in the gaps of where those resources may be missing is critical,” said Brown.

When not funding such trips across state lines, Abortion Access Nashville encourages pro-abortion activists to leave bad reviews about the same crisis pregnancy centers the state has partnered with such as Hope Clinic for Women.

Abortion Access Nashville says that crisis pregnancy centers “aim to shame people out of receiving abortions by spreading false information. They are not real medical providers and do not offer any pregnancy or reproductive care.”

Hope Clinic does have licensed medical staff including Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners overseen by Medical OB/GYN Doctors. They provide general well-care services such as:

  • Pelvic and breast exam
  • Annual health exam
  • Pap (as deemed necessary by provider)
  • Labs
  • Screening and treatment for UTI, Yeast, Bacteria and other women’s health concerns
  • IUD removal
  • Oral contraceptive prescriptions/refills/referrals are available to women 18 years or older during a required in-clinic consultation with a Nurse Practitioner.
