Tennessee Right To Life Responds To Biden Administration’s Move To Divert State’s Title X Funds To Abortion Industry

Tennessee Right to Life stands with Governor Lee in denouncing the Biden Administration’s move to give Tennessee’s portion of Title X funds to the abortion industry.
It is no secret that the move is in retaliation for Tennessee’s strong pro-life law, which is saving an estimated 1,000 unborn children from abortion in our state every month.
The millions of dollars, that should be going to the Tennessee Health Department’s local offices, were pulled by the Biden Administration in April because our state’s family counseling does not include information about aborting unborn children, which is now illegal in Tennessee.
These funds, that should have gone to Tennessee, were recently given to the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, who will now funnel them directly to the Planned Parenthood affiliate in Tennessee.
“The Biden Administration is in cahoots with the largest abortion business in the world. Funneling money from one abortion business to another to circumvent the will of the people is a new low even for the most pro-abortion administration in the history of our country. They are playing fast and loose with taxpayer dollars in an attempt to keep abortion providers relevant in a state that no longer wants them around,” said Stacy Dunn, Tennessee Right to Life President.
Tennessee Right to Life worked with legislators and Governor Haslam in 2018 to pass a law that created a system of distributing Title X family planning funds, which tiered ethical public health care providers at the top and private non-profit organizations such as Planned Parenthood at the bottom. The bill passed overwhelmingly in the House and Senate and was signed by pro-life Governor Haslam. The law reflects Tennessee values that tax dollars should not fund the world’s largest abortion business.
“Although Title X Funds cannot be used to abort unborn children, they can and will be used to promote the deadly agenda of the abortion industry as they continue to try to overturn Tennessee’s Human Life Protection Act. Additionally, every tax dollar that goes to Planned Parenthood allows them to fund the campaigns of pro-abortion Democrats in state and federal elections. This latest move in Tennessee is another underhanded attempt of the Biden Administration to bankroll radical pro-abortion candidates,” continued Dunn.
Governor Lee and Tennessee’s pro-life legislators should be commended for pushing back against this type of political punishment.
It is sad for a country when the Gov. would rather KILL babies rather than save them!!!
I don’t understand your reasoning, Doug. I’m not saying your wrong, I’m saying I don’t understand. The main function of Planned Parenthood is to kill babies. There comes a time when the demands of crackpots like Biden and company have to learn that people can and will fight back. Stop taking money from the Feds and they can’t tell you what to do with yours. IMHO the best thing that could happen to Tn. would be to, somehow, ban Planned Parenthood from doing business of any kind in the state. I’m not a Lee supporter but I see no way he’s fostering killing babies.
I think he was referring to the Federal Government killong babies not state.
