The Tennessee Conservative [By Jason Vaughn] –

During the Public Comments portion of the November 15th, 2021 Williamson County Board of Education meeting, several parents opted to make the public aware of the sexually graphic material found in local middle and high school libraries by reading aloud from the text.

Originally reported by UndercoverDC –  as parents read the sexually graphic text, School Board Member Carol Birdsong unilaterally decided to selectively mute their testimony citing “violations of FCC Rules” since the meeting was being live streamed on various channels.

Kristin Benton from the Moms for Liberty – Williamson County chapter had reportedly organized the text so that seven parents could read the excerpts with one excerpt coming from each of the seven books they chose to bring attention to at the meeting.

Moms for Liberty has been responsible for uncovering many subversive texts in libraries and in curriculums in schools across Tennessee and the nation.  Just some examples of inappropriate content include: rape, police brutality, police hatred, excessive cursing, racism, critical race theory, excessive sexual content, excessive violence, suicide, depression, incest, LGBTQ heroes, anti-parental sentiment and more.

On Benton’s website, a video titled Hope + Logic, discusses how kids are being exposed to obscene material through their schools that the U.S. Congress and the Supreme Court has ruled as impossible to show children.

A member of Moms for Liberty said, “As we review the materials and see the repetitive violence, vulgar language, suicide, substance abuse – we are no longer surprised at the rise in anxiety, suicide and depression (among children).”

During a Hamilton County School Board meeting on October 21st, a similar event took place, except with a school board member taking up the cause (after communications with Moms for Liberty) and beseeching HCS school officials and the Board to make better choices for children.

District 1 School Board Member Rhonda Thurman challenged any of HCS’ administration or school librarians in attendance to approach the podium and read excerpts from some of the books that Moms for Liberty – Hamilton County chapter had uncovered.

“I want you to get up and read some of the things I have marked…Just get up here to the podium and read some of the quotes from these books…I want the taxpayers to understand exactly what I’m talking about.  I’m not talking about a few ‘S-words’ or a few ‘D-words’ or a few ‘H-words,’ I’m talking about ‘MF,’  I’m talking about ‘GD.’ I’m talking about the ‘F-word’ until it’s ad nauseum.  Page after page after page… I want everybody in Hamilton County to know, this is what your tax money is paying for,” Thurman said.

In a quote that also applies well to the Williamson County School District and Board of Education, Thurman said, “We’re supposed to be edifying students.  We’re supposed to be building them up.  We’re supposed to be preparing them for life as adults to get out and be productive citizens in this society… I do not see one thing edifying in any of this.  I think the parents trust us to be the gatekeepers, to be sure they’re (the children) are not exposed to this.  With our grades being as dismal as they are…we have a lot more to be worried about than filling our student’s minds full of this.”

Governor Lee needs to intervein. This is ridiculous. Are we going to have to come to these meetings armed? That’s ridiculous too. Williamson County needs to fire those people that are pushing these agenda’s.

If it’s bad enough to cite FCC rules to mute the readings from text books, it shouldn’t be in these text books our babies read to begin with. WTF is wrong with our educational boards and why can they not see this?????
