At Least Half Of The Felons Arrested In Memphis “Code Zero” Operation Released Within Days

On Friday, June 14th, 2024, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) brought “Operation Code Zero” to Raines Station where they arrested 34 individuals, 20 of which were felony arrests.
Less than a week later, 10 of the 20 felony arrest suspects had already been released to the public.
The “Code Zero” operation was rolled out earlier this year as part of MPD and Memphis Mayor Paul Young’s plans to prevent crime by targeting high crime areas, increasing traffic stops and the execution of warrants.
When the operation was brought to the Raines Station area, police conducted over 200 traffic stops, through which two stolen vehicles were recovered and police seized marijuana, fentanyl, methamphetamines, a variety of pills and five weapons.
Even though a large number of arrests were made, by the time MPD made a public statement on social media the next week, half of the felony arrests had already been released back out onto the streets.
“At least half of the felony arrest suspects from Memphis Police’s recent ‘Operation Code Zero’ are already free,” U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) posted to X. “We need to restore law & order.”
Some of the felony arrests that were released within days according to MPD include:
32-year-old Nathaniel Richardson – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, theft of property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Richardson is out on a $50,000 bond.
31-year-old Elizabeth Sides – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, theft of property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sides was released on her own recognizance.
38-year-old James Martin – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, theft of property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Martin is out on a $25,000 bond.
32-year-old Courtney Johnson – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, theft of property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
MPD says Johnson has a prior arrest for possession of a controlled substance hydrocodone, possession of a controlled substance with intent, and possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription. Johnson is currently out on a $20,000 bond.
39-year-old Major Hunt – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, theft of property, possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hunt is out on a $50,000 bond.
30-year-old Deeandre Herod – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, theft of property, possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. MPD says Herod has prior arrests for domestic assault, aggravated assault, and violation of bail conditions. Herod is currently out on a $5,000 bond.
33-year-old Marquette Dockery – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, theft of property, possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dockery was released on her own recognizance.
20-year-old Cameron Fiveash – Charged with disregarding a traffic signal, evading arrest on foot, tampering/fabricating evidence, violation of financial law, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a controlled substance with intent, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, reckless driving, and violation of vehicle registration law. Fiveash is out on a $35,000 bond.
23-year-old Alexandria Moody – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Moody was released on her own recognizance.
23-year-old Alexis Wright – Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Wright was released on her own recognizance.
This is not the first MPD operation in recent weeks to result in most of the arrested criminals being released within a matter of days.
Earlier this month, police arrested a dozen individuals in “Operation All Over Boyd.”
These arrests were made on June 7th, 2024, and according to court records most of the arrested individuals were out of jail on bond by the time MPD publicly announced the arrests on June 11th, 2024.
This rapid criminal turnover rate is a contributing factor to the large number of repeat offenders that larger cities like Memphis struggle to “reform” on a regular basis.
Reports like these likely won’t help Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy’s case as state Sen. Brent Taylor (R-Memphis-District 31) is currently working to file a Senate resolution following the November election, to remove Mulroy from office.
Sen. Taylor’s potential resolution is a result of Mulroy’s recent deal with the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice to circumvent the enforcement of Tennessee law and his plans to adopt a policy allowing non-violent felons to avoid being prosecuted for possession of weapons.

What does Brent Taylor have to say about crooked cops who sell drugs to little children, who plant false evidence on innocent people, who demand “protection” money from the law-abiding; who get drunk while on duty; who physically assault law-abiding people for the “crime” of being poor? More important, what does Taylor have to say about corporate criminals like unethical landlords/landladies who bilk their tenants by refusing to make repairs or to provide safety to their tenants who pay their rent on time? Taylor is silent about all this just like most so-called “victims’ rights” or “law’n’order” candidates. At the end of the day, Taylor and Company only care about upper middle-class and upper class suburbs instead of poor and working class neighborhoods. Taylor, you don’t fool me one bit!
The Whole Police force should Quit and say why are we wasting our time doing this when these Liberal Democrat run cities let the Criminals run the streets. Sad to say but sooner or later one of them will be a Fatal victim of crime!!
That is the way Memphis is. Ms. Taylor may get rid of the DA but what about the judge? I thought the judge is the person that signs the release. We are on a fast track to becoming a third world country. I don’t understand the Democrats and the Republican Rino’s. They are so crooked it is a shame. They don’t care about this country only their selves.
