Larry Linton For TN12 Campaign Condemns Sevier County GOP Executive Committee For Violating Tennessee Republican Party By-Laws

Press Release –

Sevierville, TN – April 11, 2024 – The Larry Linton for TN12 campaign denounces members of Sevier County GOP Executive Committee for their blatant violation of the Tennessee Republican Party By Laws in their tacit endorsement of a single candidate ahead of the August primary. This egregious action marks yet another instance of the county Republican Party prioritizing the interests of a select  few over the principles of fairness in a representative Republic.

Despite the clear mandates outlined in the Tennessee Republican Party By-Laws, members of the  Sevier County GOP Executive Committee have opted to flout these rules to promote their chosen  candidate, disregarding the rights of other contenders and the GOP voters of Sevier County. District  8 State Executive Committee members and the Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party have  been notified of the violation – it is yet to be determined what action, if any, will be taken.

Furthermore, the Sevier County GOP Executive Committee has consistently operated with zero transparency, depriving Republican Party voters in the county of their right to participate in the political process. When was the last time a public meeting was held where members of the party could provide input? The lack of accountability and openness is appalling.

It is imperative for the integrity of our political system and processes, that the Sevier County GOP  Executive Committee adheres to the principles outlined in the Tennessee Republican Party By-Laws  and conducts its affairs in a transparent and inclusive manner.

The Sevier County GOP Executive Committee is no longer serving the GOP voters of the county;  instead, they are prioritizing their own interests at the expense of true representation of their  constituents. The Larry Linton for TN12 campaign calls on all GOP voters in Sevier County to  demand accountability and transparency from their local party leadership.

Screenshots of evidence that the Sevier County GOP CEC is all in for their “preferred” establishment candidate can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
