The Tennessee Conservative [By Paula Gomes] –
Democratic U.S. Representative Jim Cooper has announced that he will not seek re-election next year after 32 years in office. This decision came after Nashville (District 5) was split between three districts due to recent redistricting.
In his own words from his press release, Cooper said that “No one tried harder to keep our city whole. I explored every possible way, including lawsuits…”
When Tennessee Republicans revealed their redistricting plan, they were immediately threatened with lawsuits by Democrats who said splitting Nashville into three districts was “unfair to Black voters.”
Cooper said he was announcing his decision promptly “so that others have more time to campaign.”
Cooper is proud to have helped channel “$9.5 billion in federal funds to the Nashville district in just the last 20 months, far more federal money than ever.” (Anyone wanting details of this recent federal aid can contact Cara Ince in Cooper’s office for more information.)

Robby Starbuck who is running as a Republican for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District posted on social media saying, “When I filed to run, I said we’d make Jim Cooper retire. We did it before we got to Election Day.”
“This is the start of a new era in Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Maury, Marshall and Lewis County. Finally District 5 can vote to be represented by someone who puts your freedom and our country FIRST!” said Starbuck.
Starbuck’s post came with a warning for conservative voters. “With Cooper retiring and new district lines that mean a Republican will win this seat — establishment Republicans are gearing up to run RINO’s against me. They’ll spare no expense in trying to stop me because they fear people they can’t control.”
Starbuck went on to say, “If we want change then we have to beat them in this race and show America what’s possible with a grassroots campaign like ours that’s fueled by the people. Whoever wins this Republican primary will win this race in the new district lines.”

Great news! Ya’ll best elect a Conservative anti tax, Pro Life, Pro 2nd A REP.
Townhall just Broke Justice Beyers is retiring, that means Ginsberg Garland will be tried to ram through, and our 2 R Senators best be voting NO, they are already on my S. list. Mitch will cave as expected. Weaked kneed whimp.
We were one step away from the Marxists getting control. Most important is to elect a Republican who can win and will stop Marxism. Only 25% of voters want to change Roe v. Wade – pushing to eliminate all abortions will lose votes. If the U.S. is controlled by Marxists or “Progressives” (same thing) we are in big trouble. We need more of a centrist, not an extremist. Libertarians need to vote Republican – they helped the Dems win the GA Senate and that caused Republicans to lose the Senate majority. The Libertarian got 160,000 votes and the Republican only lost by 60,000.
