Knoxville Mayor Attends Drag Queen Christmas Show At Publicly Funded Theater

Liberal Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon proudly attended the Drag Queen Christmas Show at the city’s historic Tennessee Theatre on December 22nd, 2022. She bragged in a Facebook post that included a photo of herself and part of the audience, where children can clearly be seen behind her, that she was “So glad to be at ‘A Drag Queen Christmas’ with so many merry Knoxville folks! It’s going to be a festive night!”

Knoxville residents held a candlelight vigil to pray and grieve on the other side of the street from the theater. A source tells us that it was well attended with approximately 500 showing up to take part in the protest.

Two days before the show, Representative Jason Zachary (R-Knoxville-District 14) spoke to constituents on Twitter to relay that city officials had spoken with the show’s promoter in an attempt to ensure the safety of children attending the show with their parents. An expectation was set that performers would not interact with children as they had in previous cities where the show had already toured. Local law enforcement planned to monitor the performance.

Zachary has also promised in a separate video that “action is going to be taken” when the legislature meets in January for their new session.

    She and all the rest should be arrested for contributing to the delinquency of minors. I’ve nothing against the shows, I am against allowing anyone under eighteen to enter.

    WHY would any one take small kids to this kind of crap, if adults want trash there lives that is one thing. BUT young kids think every thing is ok, all the adults should be charged and put in jail.

    What really pisses me off about crap like this is that CPS will remove a child from his home for stupid things like anonymous “tips” from nosey neighbors or for parents refusing some medical treatment that they deem dangerous for their child, but children can be exposed to this kind of debauchery and no one blinks an eye. Where is CPS? They should be standing outside the theater doors waiting to escort kids to safer environments, and yet, crickets. It’s the double-standard that is infuriating. As a mom who homeschooled for 26 years, I got more critical and judgmental stares and heard more insulting remarks than these parents who are actually lauded and encouraged to expose kids to this disgusting spectacle. I simply cannot believe the level of deception that people have bought into. Even 20 years ago, anyone who wanted to attend a drag show did so in shame and secrecy because they at least had sense enough to realize that kind of stuff was just weird and demented. And, yet, here we are. Good Lord, please send revival or rain down fire and brimstone. Your servants are growing weary. Help us to stand.
