The Tennessee Educational System Is In Crisis [Interview w/ State Rep Scott Cepicky]

Right now, only 3.3% of Tennessee kids are mastering reading. Only 1 in 4 are on track.

In high schools all across Tennessee, we are graduating functionally illiterate children. This moral failing of the public education system will have a lifetime of terrible consequences for our children who then become adults.

In the most open, honest and frank conversation we’ve ever had on the program about School Choice, Representative Scott Cepicky talks about what’s wrong with public education in Tennessee and what the true Conservative Patriots in our Tennessee Legislature are doing to try to do what’s best for students and parents across the state.

Brilliant! After working in a high school fer 13 years in retirement, and with several college degrees, I can tell you the system stinks! And the kids hate it! The teachers are not the problem, except the ones that are bought into the communist teacher’s union, or are young enough to be brain-washed from socialistic universities. The curriculum stinks. This is a great, intelligent conversation. Love it! I’m going to write Rep. Cepicky and tell him to read John Taylor Gatto. Brilliant. Explains it all.

I know Scott. He is first rate and this segment hits the nail on the head. I have been an adjunct instructor in a jr college and am well aware of the lack of preparation for college of students graduating from HS. I have a sophomore high school grandson living with us . His education is vital to his success. Thank you Brandon for an excellent show.
