Why Local GOP’s Should Reconsider Disqualifying Candidates

The purpose of this article is to discuss the advantages of Republican Primaries and to warn that preventing conservatives from running in Republican Primaries is a bad idea that can result in Democrats winning. An example of what can happen is occurring in Williamson County, where I live. Any errors in this article are unintentional and my fault, not the fault of Tennessee Conservative News.

Why Republican Primaries are Needed:

Williamson County is very conservative. In 2020, 62% of the vote was for Donald Trump. But also in 2020, six School Board seats were elected and 100% were won by Liberals. I studied what happened and there were 4 reasons:

1. The election was “non-partisan” so people didn’t know if they were voting for a conservative or a liberal.

2. Some of the liberals pretended to be moderates or conservatives and fooled voters.

3. In some districts more than one conservative ran, which split the conservative vote and a liberal won with less than 50% of the vote. For example, in one district two conservatives split 58% of the vote and a liberal won with 42%.

4. Low turnout by conservative voters gave liberals an advantage. (The liberals did a better job of getting out their vote).

Some Conservatives are Running as Independents in Williamson County Because they Were Discouraged from Running in the Republican Primary:

This year, six more School Board seats will be elected. In two districts, conservatives say they are running as Independents because they were discouraged from running in the Republican Primary (there isn’t any reason for them to lie – they both wanted to run in the Republican Primary). They are both solid conservatives and are running active campaigns as Independents and are being helped by their conservative friends. The problem that causes is that it will split the conservative vote in the General Election. In the General Election, the person who gets the most votes wins, even if they get less than 50% – there is not a run-off.

Splitting the conservative vote helps the liberals and should be avoided. Our goal must be to beat the liberals to keep them from taking control of schools. The point of having a Primary is so there will only be ONE conservative running and the conservative vote will NOT be split. I know that in one district, there are 2 conservatives who will run active, well-organized races and the conservative vote might be split enough for the liberal to win.

The most important thing is to beat the liberal activists. For example, one School Board member admitted to me that he is only on the School Board to promote “social change”. He pushed for “White Privilege” training and hiring a Diversity Consultant to prepare a “DEI Plan”, which always recommends hiring “Diversity Consultants” to control hiring and curriculum. Those are two ways that liberals use to take control of schools.

The threat is the liberals, NOT true conservatives.

One other problem that needs to be fixed is liberals manipulating the system to run as Republicans (they are Fake Conservatives). There is one known case of that in Williamson County. The guy is a well-known liberal but somehow he qualified to run as a Republican and word is that his Democrat friends will vote for him in the Republican Primary.

Two More Serious Problems that Need to be Fixed:

1. Anyone who is running as a Republican needs to be “vouched for”, even if they belong to the local GOP and voted in several Republican Primaries. Otherwise the liberal activists will pretend to be conservatives and manipulate the system and run as “Fake Conservatives”, like is happening in Williamson County.

2. Only registered Republicans should be allowed to vote in Republican Primaries. In Williamson County, there is a history of Democrat political activists voting in the Republican Primaries to try to help a weak candidate win who will be easier for the Democrat candidate to defeat, or to help a Fake Conservative win, like in the case mentioned above.

My Recommendations:

1. Encourage EVERY conservative to run in the Republican Primary so there is only ONE conservative running in the General Election and the conservative vote isn’t split.

2. Stop using a “voting test” and instead use a “vouched-for” test with candidates approved by a committee. The objective should NOT be to stop conservatives from running in the Republican Primary, it should be to stop “Fake Conservatives” (i.e., liberals who are manipulating the system) from running as Republicans, as is happening in Williamson County.

3. Change the rules to keep Democrats from voting in Republican Primaries. There are some very clever and devious Democrats in Williamson County who are well-organized. If we aren’t smart, they will win. For example, they hired a Diversity Consultant and their plan was to take control of the schools. I’m not kidding. They were stopped by laws passed by the TN Legislature and by the massive number of people who got involved to stop CRT.

Why is the Williamson County GOP sooo clueless? Another example of why the Republicans are losers. Conservatives deserve better.
