The Tennessee Conservative [By Adelia Kirchner] –

The deterioration of Christian higher education continues with a Chaplain at a Christian college in Memphis inviting students to a seminar titled, “BDSM 101.”

Rev. Beatrix Weil is the Presbyterian-ordained Chaplain at Rhodes College, a higher education institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).

According to a current Rhodes student, Weil does not lead any worship services, but she does serve as a “faith adviser” to Christians, Muslims, and Jews on campus.

“Chaplain Beatrix will host a local dominatrix to share wisdom on how to safely, sanely, and consensually learn about bondage, discipline/domination, sadism/submission, and masochism,” read the BDSM seminar announcement.

This announcement also noted that there would be an opportunity for students to ask questions anonymously.

Just a few days prior to this announcement, Weil hosted the same dominatrix to speak at her first-year seminar titled, “Let’s Talk About Sex.”

According to a Rhodes College student, the seminar itself was not mandatory but it did fulfill a mandatory prerequisite that students must acquire.

Upon hearing about this seminar, the college’s alumni and many of their donors were outraged, demanding answers and expressing their frustration.

“What in the world is going on there?” asked an alum who graduated from Rhodes College in the 1980’s. “It’s not the same school I attended. A chaplain teaching bondage and domination does not compute.”

Another alum and donor to the college made it clear that they would not continue to financially contribute to the school after this.

“They will never get another dime out of me,” said the alum. “When they ask me for money, I’m going to tell them ‘y’all are out of your minds.’”

One graduate who still resides in the Memphis area, Amy Donohue Howell, stated that she was stunned by the event.

“Woke, liberal, sick people,” she said. “No more dollars to these idiots.”

A spokesperson for Rhodes College told KWAM AM 990 Radio that once they learned about the event, immediate action was taken. The seminar was cancelled within hours of its announcement.

“We canceled the proposed event Friday as soon as it came to our attention,” said the spokesperson. “It was not a college-sanctioned event.”

Despite the event’s cancellation, some parents of Rhodes College students are questioning whether their children should unenroll from the school.

One parent even texted their student saying, “We’re getting you the hell out of there.”

“I think it is absolutely ridiculous,” said current Rhodes College student Coleman Clay. “I don’t think anything sexual like that or any seminar like that should be held on a college campus. Even though this is a private school and they can get away with it, I don’t think that that belongs here, especially at Rhodes where I go. I’m not proud of it.”

“Even nominal Presbyterians draw the line at whips and leather chaps,” wrote Todd Starnes in an op-ed addressing the situation.

The college doesn’t require professors to submit what they plan to offer in seminars?
I would suggest that the college make it a requirement that any seminar be submitted to the administration for prior approval & failure to do so could result in dismissal.

Just about as woke as the University of Tennessee Knoxville retaining a professor who can’t define the term “woman.” So dispiriting to see what higher education has devolved to.

Education has been corrupted from K through college. It’s disgusting and no surprise we are swimming in a sea of stupidity and depravity. The whole system is in desperate need of an overhaul to rid the cancer of the progressive nutcases that are participating in the “great dumbing down” of America. Until parents stop sending their kids to these indoctrination camps, this will continue.

How irresponsible can the administration of Rhodes College be?
How do they not know what seminars are being given by their own faculty?
This sounds unlikely that some officials didn’t know what was going on or they are not doing their jobs.
Does anyone really need to explain what can happen to any organization If those in charge didn’t know what their employees were doing while on the job?

They took religion out of education. Based on their own arguments for doing that we must also remove sex and politics. If a college student chooses to learn more about those topics there should be a zero credit seminar offered at a separate cost paid by the student.

I don’t want my tax dollars paying for any kind of adult sex education period. Sorry, but it can’t be justified in any way, shape or form.

This is “Judeo-Christianity” and it’s no coincidence that Tel Aviv is the “gay capital” of the world nor that both Repubicans and Democrats support it, owned and operated by the same lobbyists, particualrly AIPAC.

In fact, the Republican and Isreali Likud colations are similar : religious fundamental, military-industrial complex, nationalist patriots and libertarians that accomodates some sexual deviancy.
    Yes, it’s contradictory
But so is the anti-everything “normal” Democrat coalition with big business, the miliatry-industrial complex. The traditionally pro-Palestinian Democrats are violently splitting over support for the Isreali massacres.
But Repulicans are actually just as divided only nobody really cares about them as much. Conservatives learned long ago what Liberals are just discovering.
    Nobody cares what you think.
Both parties are owned and operated by the same people and have a PR wing that tells constitutents what they want to hear.

300,000 peaceful protesters gathered n WDC to support Isreal, FOX News clucks. That’s about half of WDC population 658,000 and equal to the estimated total Jewish faction. The other half is evelny split between BLM Negroes and soy boy Whites. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) pledged support for Isreal. Who’d have thought?
That’s who is running the country and if they support concentration camps and mass murder in Isreal, “drone srikes on American citizens on American soil” is no stretcher. The ruling snobs hold us in no higher regard than Palestinians.
We can’t do much about Democrats but we can hand Republicans another failed election cycle in 2024. Face it, we wouldn’t lose much but we do have some house cleaning to do before anything good happens while things have gotten to the point where no one is in control anymore, at least, no American.

Why is any “Christian” institution providing students with a “how to” pertaining to premarital sex? I’m not so naive to presume it doesn’t occur, but this is essentially an endorsement of sin. When religious institutions openly promote sin what does it say about their moral compass?
